Join the Clean Energy Hub in Spencertown on April 18th!
The festivities kick off at 11 am with a tree planting ceremony at Spencertown Park - a fitting and symbolic start to the day. From there, visitors can wander through the park to meet and learn from representatives of 18 local conservation and nature nonprofits, explore earth-focused businesses and green living experts, sign up for volunteer opportunities, and discover practical ways to live more sustainably. Topics will span composting, zero waste, solar energy, EV adoption, native plants, lighting efficiency, soil preparation and more.
Next door at Spencertown Academy, a full slate of kids’ hands-on activities runs from 11:30 am to 3 pm. An instructor from Roz’s Dance Works will get children moving to eco-focused music, and there will be a continuous screening of The Extraordinary Caterpillar. Kids will make bird feeders from recycled materials, craft caterpillars and Earth Day crowns and badges, and help build a large collaborative puzzle celebrating Earth Day.
