Emergency Hot Water Heater Replacement Program

Now available! The Clean Energy Hub has funding to replace failed hot water tanks with efficient heat pump hot water heaters.

Heat pump water heaters are efficient and reliable, and can lower your monthly energy bills. They are up to 3 times more efficient than traditional electric water heaters and up to 50% more efficient than natural gas fueled water heaters. They operate best when installed in a basement with a ceiling that is at least 6 feet high.

You are eligible if you have no hot water and qualify to participate in the EmPower+ program, earning less than 80% of median income. See the income eligibility limits set by NYSERDA on their website.

We will assist you in connecting with a reputable, local contractor to install your new heat pump hot water heater. We’ll also work with you to see what additional assistance you might qualify for.
